AN ENGLISH wedding at the Il Borro estate IN TUSCANY

A wedding I have been meaning to blog for a very long time and which is still by far one of my favourite weddings I got to photograph in my carreer, was that of Katie and Gary, a lovely couple from London.

Not only did the wedding take place at the unbelievable estate of Ill Borro, which is situated on a 700ha estate in Tuscany countryside among vineyards, olive groves and cypress trees, but it lasted for three days.

Being a destination photographer can be an absolute dream of a job getting to work at the most incredible locations like this. If you on top of that have the nicest couple to work with as well as a lovely set of friends and family present at the wedding, it doesn't get much better.

Here are a few images of the main wedding day to give you a feel of what an unbelievable place Il Borro is and what a special wedding this was. Everything was organised by the bride herself including the morning yoga workout in fancy dress for the ladies as well as the strong man competition for the men.

Thanks a million for having me in Italy to shoot this amazing destination wedding Katie and Gary, it was great! :)

An English Barn Wedding in Buckinghamshire

For some reason I absolutely love shooting weddings in the UK more than anywhere else. Is it the attention for detail, is it the beautiful countryside or is it the fact people are so incredibly grateful when receiving their images, I don't know.

Having gone out to Buckinghamshire to shoot Becky and David's wedding was another one of those days when I love my job. Lovely couple, lovely family and a stunning church and wedding venue. The decoration of Notley Tythe Barn was incredible as a backdrop for a wedding but to be able to take Becky and David out for a shoot in the fields nearby during sunset..Well, you can't really ask for much more as a wedding photographer :)

Thanks again for having me Becky and David!

Huwelijk in Limburg

Not all weddings have to be in the UK or somewhere far away abroad to be stunning. On the other side of Belgium where I was born, I was asked to shoot this wedding in Lummen, Limburg.
Apart from being the most chilled out couple, we had a gorgeous day and after the civil ceremony there was a more personal ceremony in the Kruidentuin in Herkenrode which basically is a beautiful green location housing hundreds of plants and herbs.

After the garden ceremony where more than just a few tears flowed, we proceeded to the most lovely venue for the wedding breakfast and party. Thank you for having me as your wedding photographer you two! :)

Enya & Yannick's Provence wedding

Being asked to shoot a destination wedding in the Provence in France was definitely high up on my list and this year I got to do it.
Going over to the beautiful region of the Provence in France where I had never been before myself to shoot a wedding was just amazing.
I arrived the evening before to get to know the couple and their close friends a bit better and they just were the nicest people. The same evening I went for a run around the villa where the wedding was held to scout for a few spots to do a shoot with the couple. I knocked on some doors and managed to get in to some lavender fields nearby for the shoot of the married couple. And as you can see, it was absolutely worth it.
So if any couple would ever have a bit of a doubt to get married abroad, for example in the Provence, take a good destination wedding photographer along and you will have the images of a lifetime in such a beautiful place.

Thanks again you two for taking me as your wedding photographer, it was simple amazing!

Sophie and Sam's epic wedding

When I met Sophie for the first time it really clicked and I knew it would be a great wedding.

Given the opportunity to be a wedding photographer in Canterbury, more precisely in the amazing venue Knowlton Court, was just great. Knowlton Court is the most stunning countryside wedding venue and I was so happy to be here as wedding photographer for Sophie and Sam.

The entire was beautiful as well as the people, the setup of the wedding, the food and the party.

Deisy and David's beautiful wedding

• Sometimes it just clicks with certain people and that's definitely what I had with Deisy and David, a couple from Belgium. I could even consider myself as a destination wedding photographer for this one, as they both live in London as well but immigrated from Belgium just like myself.

The wedding itself was planned by Julie from Fee Des Merveilles who did an excellent job as the entire day was perfectly planned and just looked absolutely stunning on this sunshiny day.
Chateau de Ruisbroek was the most perfect location and the big day of this couple was just the ideal start of the wedding season.

Thanks for having me Deisy and David! :)

India and it's beautiful people

India was very likely the most intense trip I have ever undertaken. Having gone there for a job shooting an event early December, I decided to stay and explore the country. Leading me more off the beaten track than I have ever been before, making it was an absolutely unforgetable experience.

I went to Rajastan, visited the Taj Mahal as well as I saw wild rhinos in Kaziranga National Park bordering Bhutan.
On the way I met people with facial tattoos who used to headhunt and on this trip I also got very, sicker than I ever got before traveling, as a lot of people do in this country, but one thing I didn't do, was stop taking pictures.
I managed to explore this country from the slums in Delhi, to the colourful streets in Kolkata and the mountainous areas on the Burmese border, witnessing the versatility of this intense country.

Here is what I saw and experienced through my lens in the beautiful India.

A beautiful D.I.Y countryside wedding

I can't believe it's been four months since I have last blogged a wedding! I have been meaning to post Lucy and Toby's wedding for ages, but as the wedding season is in full swing, it is hard to focus on anything else but editing images every day and shoot weddings every weekend.

I met Lucy and Toby shooting a destination wedding in Mallorca, and apparently they liked my images as I got asked to shoot their wedding. I'm very glad they chose me as their photographer for their special as this was truly a beautiful wedding with so much eye for detail.
Everything was done by Lucy herself ( probably with some help from Pinterest ) but I think we can all agree there is nothing not to love about this wedding! See for yourself! :)

A London styled engagement shoot

I love my job.

And if the sun's around when I'm doing my job, it generally can't get any better. Well, unless I think of the people, and these two people I shot a pre wedding shoot for, were amazing, so yeah, this was THE perfect engagement shoot, so I had to share some of the images I shot near Westminster Abbey and surroundings with you all :)

A British countryside wedding with a personal touch

I love shooting countryside weddings, especially when so much thought and attention to detail has been put into it, they are always a source of great inspiration.

The wedding of Sophie and Chris was set in the picturesque village of Hambleden with a picture perfect church, making it the quintessential British country wedding. The day started off grey and rainy, but soon the sky cleared and we had nothing but glorious sun for the rest of the day.

Pink balloons, blue skies, and a red velvet wedding cake. The day was filled with family and friends who all pitched in to make not only the deserts, but every single piece of decoration you see in this wedding. Here's a little taste of some of the images I managed to capture on this special day filled with laughter and happiness.

Being a wedding photographer is probably one of the best jobs out there :)

Who ever says being a wedding photographer is boring, lame or not "cool"  is probably just not doing a good job or not interacting enough with the people at the wedding!

Being a wedding photographer I get the privilege of being a part of a very special and a very happy day for one couple and their friends and family around them..So if you think about it, how can this not be fun, every single person has a happy face on, and if the weather is nice, nothing can go wrong!

When this couple got in touch with me I instantly knew this was going to be my kind of wedding. Very laidback, a great and rustic location, and a do it yourself wedding ceremony led by some of their friends.
The perfect recipe for a one of a kind wedding day. And it was! :)

Bretagne / North of France Destination Wedding

Once in a while I get an enquiry for a wedding abroad.

As I love traveling, I love destination weddings. Not only is it a great opportunity to experience different cultures and how people get married in other countries, overal it's just a nice experience to be photographing in other countries.

This time I drove over to the north of France for a French - English wedding in the region of Bretagne.

This two day wedding was in a beautiful church and the most stunning castle for the reception, dinner and party.

Destination wedding photography definitely is as good as it gets for a wedding photographer, especially if you then have the privilege of working with genuine nice people on beautiful locations! :)

Save The Date Shoots

Engagement shoots are a fun and great way to get used to me as a photographer on your big day and learning to be at ease in front of the camera.

The most popular reason for an engagement shoot though is as a Save The Date or for your wedding invites for which they generally are used.

So please take a peek at some recent engagement shoots I have done! :)

Zaeem Jamal Fashion Shoot for British Polo Day, India

Being part of the British Polo Day team is something very special.

Being flown out to Jodhpur in India to do a fashion shoot for a high end English fashion brand.. Well..That's incredible.

A couple of months ago I was asked to fly to India to shoot for an amazing English brand, Zaeem Jamal.
Having shot at the Maharadja of Jodhpur's Palace's Gardens, all over the fascinating city of Jodhpur, this is a taste of a fashion shoot which soon will be featured in Harper's Bazaar in the United Arabic Emirates, shot in one of the most colourful, photogenic and interesting places I have ever visited, India.

Sian & Dom's Brighton Halloween themed wedding

Past summer I was invited as a guest to a beautiful wedding in Mallorca.

San Marroig, one of the most beautiful wedding locations I have ever seen made it very difficult for me as a photographer to just enjoy the wedding as a guest so I was very tempted to take out my camera more than once!

Having done this throughout the day I had some amazing images to share with Sian and Dom after the wedding.

They loved the images so much they decided to get me to take photos at their official wedding in Brighton.

It was a very beautiful do it yourself Halloween styled colourful wedding I really enjoyed shooting.

The fact that Brighton is located by the seaside where I have been brought up as well just made this extra special for me to document. Hope you all like it! :)
